Autumn Second Half

Our Autumn Walk

Look at what we have been learning

We used some of the objects we found on our Autumn walk to create an Autumn nature strip and to help us with counting and recognising numbers.

Remembrance Day- We made poppy wreaths to remember those who fought for their country, those who died and those who came home.

ICT- We have been using IPads to help us with our Maths counting and ordering numbers.

In Robin's we love to read. We can talk about the pictures in the story, predict what is going to happen next, talk about the characters and are beginning to segment and blend to read words and sentences.

Our theme this half term has been 'Traditional Tales' and we used our theatre to act out the story of 'Little Red Riding Hood'.

Diwali-I told the children a little bit about the festival of Diwali. They made Rangoli patterns, created Mehndi patterns and decorated Diva lamps. We then lit the Divas, listened to Diwali songs and talked about how Diwali is celebrated.

In PE they took part in a fireworks movement activity. We talked about Bonfire night and fireworks, discussing the fireworks they had seen and heard and talked about their favourite ones. They then explored moving around the space like different fireworks!

Bedtime stories. The children came back to school in their pyjamas to listen to stories and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.
