As part of the children's first week at home I would like them to write a set of instructions. This can be about a meal they have helped to prepare, how to build something or the best way to entertain yourself at home. In this they need to be using imperative verbs (bossy verbs; stir, put, get etc.). Alongside this the children can draw pictures to show the instructions they are writing. Finally they can write a short description about who this activity is for.
Throughout this ensure the children are using the correct grammar for /a/ and /an/. /a/ comes before a word beginning with a consonant and /an/ before a word beginning with a vowel.
