Our published admission number for Reception children is 24 pupils, meaning in the September intake of Reception pupils we will accept no more than 24 pupils on roll.
As a Community School we are subject to the local authority admission procedures that are coordinated by Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire Admission forums as follows. The local authority manages all school admissions and any application for a place at the school regardless of whether this is for a pupil new to school or a pupil transferring from another school and you should contact them on 0300 300 8037.
From September 2025 Central Bedfordshire will be opening the 2026 rounds. If your child was born between 01/09/2021 and 31/08/2022 you will need to apply for your child's first school place before the 15th January 2026.
NOTE: The application deadline is 15 January 2026.
All applications received after 15 January 2026 will be classed as late and not processed until the late allocation round, which will take place after the national offer day for on time applications. Submitting a late application significantly reduces a child’s chance of an offer of a place at one of their preferred schools.
Please note there is no automatic transfer from Nursery to Reception Year so parents must apply to their home local authority.
September 2025 - Information and Application Forms available to Parents. Parents are encouraged to complete online.
15th January 2026 - Deadline for return of Application Forms
16th April 2026 - Notification of application requests (on time applications)
1st June 2026 - Notification of application requests (late or changed applications)

Please be aware that Haynes Lower School only has one intake a year for first admissions which is in September.
